Affraid that his family go in a bad financial condition after he die, as a over skilled chemestry, he decided to produce Methamphetamine, a cristal like drug, with his old High School student Jesse Pinkman, who is a minor drug seller.
As I said, he is a over skilled Chemestry, and produces the best Meth in the World, and his brother-in-law Hank, who is the leader of the Narcotics department, starts to go after who is doing that ''perfect'' Meth, and Walter needs to hide this ''dark side'' from his family and survive the crazy and dangerous world of drugs.
The coolest is because of the cancer, he just decided to ''break bad'', and he slowly goes crazy. Having cancer, almost being killed by drug dealers and cops many times certain is a huge life changing experience!
